Ham Happenings
We’re just getting off of one of our biggest months yet! From opening for LaMP at the State Theatre (the band’s 50th show!), competing in Movin’ On’s Battle of the Bands, and hitting our favorite grocery store/pub/venue every weekend, we’ve been staying very busy lol. I think my favorite recent moment was at A’s Pub on 4/10/26. We were playing an encore of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs and launched into the mid-song guitar solo. It’s funny, Nick said he just blanked on the bass line he usually plays and so instead started to funk it up. What then occurred was one of the filthiest, swampy, funk jams I’ve been a part of. Definitely gonna try to work that in more!
We’re also working on our first (bedroom) studio album, titled Creatures! It should be out in May and will feature around 10-12 tracks, both brand new and old. We’re excited for you to hear it! In the meantime, Live at The State Theatre is streaming on all platforms! Additionally, we just did a spring merch drop in our store, be sure to check it out!
Ham on a Stick plays at Battle of the Bands!
What We’re Listening To!
Jack: I have found my new favorite artist, Mezttly! She popped up on my FYP on TikTok with her new song Who Knows?. It is a perfect blend of bedroom pop and funk that evolves into a beautiful chord progression and stacked harmonies. The instrumentation is also perfect and her lyrics tackle imposter syndrome and existential dread as and artist, though I think that’s something we all face. She has only two other songs released right now, but Mezttly is a must listen!
